Become a Bexley Voice Volunteer
Volunteering is rewarding and enjoyable. You can make friends, share experiences and utilise your existing knowledge and skills.
You will need to have some spare time, commitment and passion!
Volunteers support Bexley Voice in wide variety of ways - often learning new skills in the process and gaining confidence, that benefits other areas of their life.
The majority of Bexley Voice meetings and events take place during school hours/term time. We are parents/carers/relatives of children with special needs and understand that during school holidays, our commitment is to our own families.
When considering becoming a BV volunteer, you will need to:

When considering becoming a BV volunteer, you will need to:
- Have a genuine passion to help support Bexley Voice deliver on our vision/mission and aims.
- Be realistic about the time and commitment you are able to offer/responsibilities you take on.
- Talk with one of the team to find out more about what we do and what you can offer.
- Helping to organise and or deliver our School Visit Programme - virtual and face to face.
- Supporting at our parent/carer Tea and Talk support groups, making tea/coffee and helping new members.
- Attending events to represent Bexley Voice and share how we can help parent/carers.
- Becoming a parent representative, attending meetings to share the voice of Bexley Parent Carers with decision makers.
- Assisting with the development and promotion of consultations.
- Proof reading/parent sensing documents/website.
- Being a member of the Bexley Voice Operating Committee or sub-groups, which enables us to function effectively.
- Joining the Board of Trustees who steer our strategic direction and ensure it is doing what it was set up to do.
- You will be inducted, this will include an overview of what we do so that you understand all aspects of what we do
- You will be advised what the general requirements are of a BV volunteer (confidentiality/conflicts of interest, training, safeguarding, reclaiming expenses etc) along with the specific responsibilities and obligations of your particular role are.
- You will be issued with your red top and lanyard to wear when representing Bexley Voice.
