The Early Years team can provide information on funding:
- Appropriate nurseries in Bexley can apply for DAF funding (3-4 years old who also receive Disability Living Allowance). The Disability Access Fund (DAF) is new funding for early years providers to support children with disabilities or special educational needs. It aids access to early years places by supporting providers in making reasonable adjustments to their settings
- Early Years Inclusion funding (for low level SEN Support). The Inclusion Fund is available to enable the inclusion of any funded 2, 3 & 4 year olds with additional needs and/or disabilities in Bexley settings. They are designed to provide financial support to increase staffing ratios or to provide resources in the setting to meet children’s needs.
The Provider will need to apply to the Bexley Panel (which meets each term) to describe and supply evidence of the nature of the child’s additional needs, how this creates a barrier to their inclusion within the setting and why additional funding / staffing is required to support the child.
Flexibility will be considered for applications between these panel dates for exceptional circumstances, for example, an EHC plan for a child is turned down or a child has recently started to attend in a setting.
This funding is not available to settings outside of Bexley. - Nurseries, schools, childminders, academies and any setting registered to provide the 3 & 4 year old free entitlement will be able to claim extra funding through the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) to support children’s development, learning and care and to fund valuable support such as extra training or resources to help raise the quality of your child's early education. This is paid directly to your childcare provider as part of their normal funding claim. It is not paid to parents or seen as a monetary amount on invoices. To be eligible for EYPP you will need to meet at least one of the criteria this can be given to you by your childcare provider. They will ask you to provide some additional details which will be sent to the Local Authority in order to validate your child’s eligibility.
