Building Social Communication Confidence in the Early Years.
An interactive workshop for parent/carers of pre-school children who have social communication differences/Autism.
An opportunity for you to learn about activities and strategies that you can be using to support your child's communication development and early social skills.
This particular session is for children with social communication differences and strategies will be targeted at children with those needs.
(It will be less useful for parents of children experiencing speech sound delays disorders & stammering. Our market place will cover all forms of communications difficulties so, feel free to pop in to talk to professionals about your child if you don't feel this session if for you.)

Session 2 - Primary 5-11
Activities & Games to Support Your Child's Speech, Language and Communication Skills.
A session focused on what parent/carers can do to help primary aged children to develop their speech and language skills.
Bexley SALSAs (Speech and Language Specialist Assistants) will share and demonstrate a range of practical ideas, activities & games which will help to improve your child's communication skills.
9:30-2:30pm
Information Tables focused on Speech, Language and Communication & SEND needs (special educational needs & disabilities). Information tables will be available from 9:30am-2:30pm. Ican (The children's communication charity), Bexley 0-19 Health Visitors, Bag Books, Library Services, Children's Centres, Listening Books, Local Offer, ASD Advisory Team plus more to be confirmed.
(If you are not attending a session, the best time to pop in and speak to the professionals at the information tables is when sessions are in progress.)
- To equip parent/carers to support their children with speech and language development, especially in the early years and following the isolation imposed by Covid and it's subsequent impact.
- To provide interactive, practical approaches and strategies for parents to use at home to further support their child's speech & language development.
- To provide a range of information on communication in it's wider sense.
